Events: COSAL Annual Dinner Celebrating 37 Years

On November 1, 2023, COSAL members gathered for cocktails, dinner, and celebratory speeches at the St. Regis Hotel to honor COSAL’s 37th year. 120 people attended the dinner, with representation from 44 firms. There were lots of familiar faces and COSAL stalwarts in crowd mixed in with plenty of new faces, many of whom are younger and more diverse. There was a palpable energy and optimism for the future of our bar that could be felt throughout the evening.

Officers, partners, supporters, and members were recognized for their support throughout 2023. COSAL recognized the outgoing and new committee chairs and vice chairs for 2024. The slate of 2024 officers was presented and voted upon with unanimous approval. Henry Liu, the new Director of the Bureau of Competition at the FTC., addressed COSAL membership and Alex Barnett was presented with the COSAL President’s Award.

On a sadder note, the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Jonathan Cuneo, was acknowledged.  Jon was there when the COSAL articles of incorporation were filed, which happened, as Jon would enjoy telling it, on New Year’s Eve in 1985. COSAL was Jon’s first big client and he had enormous affection and respect for the organization, and especially, for its members.  He was so proud of COSAL’s growth and sustainability over the years.
