Event: COSAL Panel Discussion at Harvard Law School

COSAL hosted a panel discussion and luncheon for students from Harvard Plaintiff's Law Association and the Harvard Law School Antitrust Association in Cambridge. the panel discussion entitled, “Become an Antitrust Plaintiff’s Lawyer: Fight Corporate Abuse and Help Consumers and Small Businesses,” featured Swathi Bojedla, Deborah Elman, Karin Garvey, Kristen Marttila, and Jennifer Scullion. The panel was led by HLS 2L Samara Trilling, who did an excellent job keeping the conversation lively and interesting.  More than 100 students attended!

Here’s what some of the students said about it:
“Best career panel I’ve seen.”
“It really looked like they love what they do.  I don’t get that from the Big Law recruiters.”
“Antitrust issues seem to get at the core of the economic problems in the country.”
“Many students chose this panel over a different panel discussion on the upcoming Supreme Court term, which shows the level of interest in antitrust and plaintiff’s work.”
“This was great.  Please come back and do it again next year.”

Pamela Gilbert is in communication with the terrific HLS students who helped us put this together about next steps to keep the relationship between COSAL and the student groups going.  We are also thinking about doing more events like this with law students at other schools.  If we can get the same kind of interest and turnout, we are confident we can develop a strong pipeline of future plaintiff antitrust stars. The day was energizing and full of hope for the future.
